writing all genres - Specializing in horror, comedy, thriller, and drama, Lacye brings a unique voice to live-action, animation, and web series formats. Her work is characterized by its depth, versatility, and a keen understanding of diverse narratives.

Lacye didn’t just start writing early—she started writing right. In the 5th grade, a visionary teacher recognized her potential and arranged for her to spend school days finishing classwork fast so she could write fiction at the computer. Her first novel? Done before lunch. The habit? Lifelong.
Today, Lacye A. Brown is an award-winning screenwriter with over 130 festival selections and wins across film, television, animation, and transmedia. She specializes in bold, genre-blending stories that live at the crossroads of horror, comedy, thrillers, and drama, and she doesn’t just write—she directs, produces, edits, and narrates her work.

She’s the creator of the Dr. Apples Universe, an award-winning IP spanning books, podcasts, visual art, and short-form video. Her work has been recognized by Tribeca, Essence Film Festival, and All The Laughs Comedy Awards, among others. She’s also a sought-after script doctor, known for transforming “almost-there” scripts into festival contenders.

Beyond her writing, Lacye serves as a film festival judge, mentor, and story analyst. She’s been mentored by Mike Disa (Hoodwinked Too!, Dante’s Inferno) and studied entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School Online and Cornell University.

You’ll find her work in live-action and animation, across platforms and budgets—always sharp, always intentional, and always unmistakably Lacye.
